just in the middle of rebuilding an 8.4" AP caliper.

Does anyone know what torque value the bolts that hold the two caliper halves together should be done up to?

Good luck, as when I did this years ago I could not find the torque setting anywhere. AP will not tell you either.

I settled for 52Nm as this is the torque for the caliper bolts to the hub- both are the same thread size, both are threading in to cast iron.

ive had a look in the "proper" manuals (the ones garages have ) and i dosent tell you either
