Hi. Rebuilding my engine. Going to have the head ported and the chambers opened up. Will i see any real significant gains by puting a better cam in and if so any good ones to recomend. Minispeed is down the road from me and they have a "phase 2" in stock. My gearbox is standard and in very good condition. Any ideas what kind of bhp they will take? Also i have an oil cooler but have seen loads of turbo'd minis not running with them so is it needed.

cam = definately see gains
its the torque that kills a box, 100ftlbs will do a box over in no time if you drive like a twat, if you search its been done to death ( the question and the boxes)
if your oil overheats put an oil cooler on it, if it doesnt overheat you dont need one

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Id recommend putting one in you will definately see gains.

To decide the correct one for you, your best bet would be to use the search button at the top.

i find putting a cam in helps significantly, otherwise it could be a non starter

It does however depend on where you put it....
