Wondered if anyone on here could recommend a good freeview recorder? Im after one with uPnP connectivity to connect to a NAS drive, with possible VGA output. Ive seen the 3view one but its 300 and i could get bloody virgin hd for less.

Have a look at dreambox's. I use one for satellite, pretty sure they do a freeview version. Mine does everything you require. |

Get Sky HD If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

I refuse to conform to social trends! Like you say hopefully the cost will drop over time, i might just stick with a normal freeview box for the time being! 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Could you just stick a decent telly card in a computer? If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Have you looked at HUMAX? Most of the good features are on the Free Sat not the free view though. But mine is 4 years old so I am not fully up to date on the current specs. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

Yes, these appear to be my only current option, it might be worth me getting a sattelite and running one of these tbh! 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

I use windows media centre on windows 7, and have a pair of media centre extenders in the workshop and bedroom. Have 4 digital teristial tuners and 2 sky tuners, works great On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

As Ben says, The Humax Freesat HD is really good. It has got the best iPlayer of the ones I've got (Wii,PS3) and you can run an external hard drive for back ups. Seems more stable than my Freeview player (which is the same age as Ben's). I think the freesat picture is a better quality. All you need is a multi lnb on your dish (minimum 2, but I've got a 4). I'm using the ethernet port on the back to hook up to the internet, for the iplayer. I've never tried it for anything else.
