hi,

my turbo mini has been smoking when its ticking over, so i checked the plenum for oil to see if it was the turbo seals, the plenum was bone dry. Just taken the head off as i thought it could be the stem seals, when i took the inlet manifold off there was a small pool of oil in both of inlet bores on the head, is this down to the stem seals or something different?

when i took the seals off they all seemed to be seated correctly and the only real thing that i can see wrong with them is the bottoms of them seemed to be skirted out, im new to jobs like this so a point in the right direction would be great!!!

Steve 1275 experienced a similar problem which turned out to be a valve guide loose in the head.

Just checked the guides they seem tight in the head but the valves stems have quite a bit of play in the guides.

Got a quote today £40.00 plus vat for new guides and re cut seats. seems quite reasonable to me.
