Unfortunate.....

Lesson, never believe the seller about what they've done unless (1) you know them well, (2) they already have a good reputation like from forums, or (3) they have cast iron proof in the form of receipts etc.

Was it "using" oil beforehand (blue smoke or leaks) - the only time I had pressure drop to zero and trash the big ends (actually on an Imp engine) was when the sump plug fell out and the oil level dropped below the pickup pipe.

The day got worse for us, we got stopped and held by colchester traffic police who started picking faults with cars, especially James's flip front clubby, chriss broke down and had to summon the aa, then at midnight last nite We had Sharron taken to A and E with broken rib and suspected punctured lung. A couple of breakdowns on way home, people got lost too, been home 40 mins, to be honest, this happening to you probably saved you a total farse of a weekend!!

Well, the ingredients was alcohol, a hill, three other club members, a camping chair, and a bundle, mixed together = ambulance and a 'n' e!

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

One of the chaps in our club has a grp fronted clubby which to be fair looks a tad tatty, it has a set of minilife 5.5" alloys that stick out from under the arches (altough not a great amount) they was unhappy with it and wanted to impound the car. We managed to convince them that if swapped wheels with another car we could make it "legal" in thier eyes. The only issue was we had only the std mini jack and only one jacking point in the 4 sills. so 3 of had to pick up the sidw of each car while the others swapped wheels. proved very entertaining for passers by.

If that's the best Colchester Police can do (rather than actually catching criminals) it's rather quite pathetic.

It's sad how they now have targets to meet rather than doing what you and I pay them for.

Never mind the criminals, just pull someone over for points.

Funny you should reply with that Rod, as this was the concensus of thought when 3 of us was verging on hernias from the manhandled wheel change!

Better sort out my arches by the sound of it, there really is no need to think about impounding a car for something as trivial as that.

well thats gonna bugger the look up of mine then*frown*

remember that ALL the wheel needs to be covered,
they don't stand for any of that as long as the tread is covered nonsense round here.

I wonder how many drug dealers and other low life drove by whilst the Colchester traffic cops were thinking about calling for an "expert" on wheel arches !!!
