hi all am new to the site, dont own a mini turbo at the mo but hoping to get engine done as soon as cash allows.

i did have the cash but the top ball joint snaped on monday while coming round a round about which was fun. i met with central reservation lol

anyway just thoguht i wud say hi

i know how you must be feeling about the snapped balljoint! the same happened to me a couple of years ago, made a right mess of the wing and a-panel, and trying to get it onto the recovery truck was nearly impossible....

hope you get it sorted out easily enough.

I live in Kimberworth. Mini place I was on about is at Bramley Bottom you must know it, MiniMod.

yeah mate, i used to use them but not any more as the bloke is a twat, i went in 1 morning having problems with my breaks, the place was empty they where both stood around and even though i must have spent at least ?600 there on parts last year he wud not look at them and told me to b on my way

Ar well thats not very good I have to say. I do all my own work though, so just use him for parts and he has been fine with me.

yeah i was the same myself mate just used him 4 parts and he always seemed fine, just i cud not find the problem with the brakes so wanted him to av a look, the young lad their had started to take wheels off to av a look n he told him not to.

oh well hes lost a customer now ill go somewhere else

Hi, welcome to the board. I'm in Doncaster so not a million miles away either.

I use mini mod for parts when I have to, but it's not my favourite place.

My wife works in Rotherham, but she won't call at Minimod to get parts for me for reasons that cannot be discussed on a public forum. It's all to do with the car she drives...oops did I say too much? :)

Have you found anywhere else to go?

Was going to take some pics and do a 'this is me and my stuff' type thing but as you asked......

We have a few mini's, all in various states of disrepair.

1990 racing green which is the current (temporary) home of my 8 port engine.

1979 Mini clubman estate with a round nose front end, roll cage, modified rear doors, and a rotten floor. This is the proper home for my 8 port engine, and it will be going back in there when the shell had been repaired

1964 morris mk I, shell resto is just being finished off by a friend. Still sourcing bits for it, but I hope when I've done it will look something like the blue mini from the original Italian job film (but without the lamp bar and bonnet straps)

I have some turbo engine parts that I will build up to go into the racing green. The RG is also my welding practice car :)

1998 sportpack with modified suspension and cylinder head. This car is complete and works cos it's my wifes and I'm banned from making any further modifications :)

We also have a bini one and a Mk II golf gti


and no money

you own a carpark by anychance!(might need one!lol)

:) I've got marks small car trailer and a 5ft x 3ft box trailer as well

Thinking of renting out parking space when the new airport opens in the spring!

cheers mate, sounds like you know your stuff then, tbh i dont nkow much bout them but try to do as much of the work myself that i can to gain more experience. strugle some times tho as i dont wanna start doing something n then not know how to finish it lol
