What are the pros & cons with holes in the cover i have been thinking why lads do it

I think the main reasons are to aid cooling of the clutch and there is also a slight weight saving.
And as they as every little bit helps

Careful tho If you do a lot of wet weather driving like retro rally or the likes water can get splashed in and cause clutch slip have had that happen :(

I saw pictures of a wok rescently with holes in the top third and counter sunk holes on the inside of the rest of it.

Looks good and very light, but i got bored drilling 5 holes in my subframe so id never get to that extent.

yes as has been said meant to add cooling, the cons are dropping nuts and bolts down them if to big, AND if you have an oil pipe over that side of the engine blow off, your clutch get covered! far from ideal!

They look to be about the right size to me. some people go OTT with 20mm plus.

As said before heat is the main reason. I also hack off the starter KNOB. It gets in the way. Only if your running a small light weight starter mind you.
