Okay, so weird question, but here goes:

On the 1/4 windows should the glass sit inbetween the edges? Meaning, should it be 1/2 of the window thickness inside, 1/2 of the window thickness on the outside, so that it sits just inside of the body? Or should it sit just outside and not fitting flush? I didn't even think about looking for that when I pulled the old ones out of my mk 3, and these are for a mk1... Even went over the measurements with the chap I bought them from (heritage garage here in the states) and he had the same measurement I did, and these are just about a 1/4inch off... Shed some light anyone?

Cheers

Fixed glass, and yes rear quarters. Thanks in advance to all who have some idea of what I'm talking about! I'm not too good at describing this kind of stuff. If I get a chance I'll post a pic or two.

I've only got Mk2 / Mk3 shells to compare and the glass is out of the fixed glass ones.

On the openning windows, the metal/chrome surrond is slightly outside the body line but the glass inside the frame is probably level or flush with the body panels.

From what I can remember of the fixed glass, the same would apply, ie, the rubber seal assembly would be slightly outside but the glass itself would be flush.

The fixed glass seals are stepped to account for the shape of the recess.

Outside normally so they sit flush.
