tbh im not sure im going to weigh it next to a bare std subby when im finished with it.

Things to do next on it is more holes on the rear as thats still quite heavy, seam weld it, add some supports at the front rear and on the tie rod mounts

how much would this practice affect rigidity?

Considering that the chassis is weakened by putting in a bulkhead box is it really a good idea bar the out and out racers?

ahh beaten to it slightly by colin

The standard subframe I fitted last year is bent where the tie bars fix and I have dyno footage where you can see the front end flex. Its a welded front, but no inner wings and no brace bars, but if it flexes that much in standard form, adding lots of holes is not going to help much.

I personaly have been adding gussets ( *hehe!* ) all over the frame and seam welding where there is none

mines seem weldeds with a few holes in and then bracing either side of the tie rod mounts and extra triangle bracing on the turrets

Is the large chunk of flat steel heaver than all the tube you replaced it with?

What about triangulation for the towers?
