hey

my cars started smoking like a fukka. fine on 1st start up, then just get proggresivly worse. i think its stem seals as it doesent smoke all the time and it doesent come out in whisps like it would if the rings were gone.

any opinons please thanks eden

Apparently you can jack the front of the car up whilst running to check stem seals.

I say apparently as I've not tried myself.

stem seals will smoke at first fire up and in my case, hard cornering and braking, and over run doesnt smoke whilst driving

as for the jacking up front, it is one way to check

yours sounds like rings imo does it blow lots of smoke when you boot it? do your breathers feed back into your carb?

a compression test is needed to eliminat that part of it ........

if the engine is say! ..... 20 odd years old and the turbo is the same and its JUST started my monies on the turbo seals are goosed!

it runs fine dont think it smokes wen i boot it, just hevilly on idle?
