Massive chambers for high boost and 18cc in the pistons.... Do you know your CR?
I had to skim my head after fitting 18cc pistons.

Power depends on head, cam and boost. The T3 camshaft has been proven OTT.

This is the engine in the car Rubicon linked to on ebay.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I have only just bought this engine setup so im unsure on the compression. Why did you have to have the head skimmed?

Yea I've been reading about the avon bar phase 3 and its not great. I do have a phase 2 cam which I will be putting into it.
I will be running around 12psi?

Do you have a ball park figure for this engine?

Many thanks

I'd be worried about the CR a little myself.....

In my engine build, with 18cc pistons, I need just 20.5cc in the head to get 8.5:1, that's a smaller chamber than standard! (21.4cc)

Im quite new to this, so it might be a stupid question but what is wrong with going lower than 8.5:1 compression?

Thanks

Poor fuel economy and horrible to drive off boost

I would change the head gasket, if it's just 'cosmetic' then you will have problems *wink*

I used to run my compression as low & didn't think it was horrible either, but when I raised it to 8.4-1 the improvement was very noticeable.

In the garage......again!!

I am running about 7.9:1 with 9psi metro cam. runs great but feels a little 'cammy' due to the air speed across the head at low speeds making it feel lumpy. i reckon you may be looking at an easy 150 - 160bhp

133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi
Shakespear RWYB 14.995 91.83mph

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
