Massive chambers for high boost and 18cc in the pistons.... Do you know your CR?

This is the engine in the car Rubicon linked to on ebay. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

The T3 camshaft has been proven OTT. I have only just bought this engine setup so im unsure on the compression. Why did you have to have the head skimmed? Yea I've been reading about the avon bar phase 3 and its not great. I do have a phase 2 cam which I will be putting into it. I will be running around 12psi? Do you have a ball park figure for this engine? Many thanks |

I'd be worried about the CR a little myself.....

Im quite new to this, so it might be a stupid question but what is wrong with going lower than 8.5:1 compression?

I would change the head gasket, if it's just 'cosmetic' then you will have problems On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
i tried putting soap on it , and heating it to brown , then slathered my new lube on it

I am running about 7.9:1 with 9psi metro cam. runs great but feels a little 'cammy' due to the air speed across the head at low speeds making it feel lumpy. i reckon you may be looking at an easy 150 - 160bhp 133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi
