Can lend you a flywheel puller if you don't get one off ebay. Either pick it up or I can post it you.

Or in fact this thursday afternoon(ish) I am making a trip down the A1 past Peterboghorror so if you can meet me at the A1 then I can drop it off to you.

Halfords? (Sound of spitting on floor)

Robbing B&*^?$$

Although they do a good line in giving you out a new battery if you spot one the same as the one you bought from them in a skip and take it back with your receipt......suddenly ?70 doesn't seem so expensive........

Have you priced how much they sell for in the mini shops????

?17 sounded pretty good to me for a decent puller with a fine-pitch thread, much better than the units minispares sell :
http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=36627

I've had two of the minispares ones; the first spun the head of the bolt (went and borrowed a mates draper puller and that got the flywheel off), the second the centre 'insert' got so badly mashed by the bolt that it used to spin on the end of the crank - not good.
The Halfords (draper) one at ?17 is good value in my opinion... I've seen the draper ones for sale at mini places for near ?25 before!

The finer pitch the thread on the puller the more axial load it'll apply for a given torque... I recall the thead pitch on the williams-club (minispares) puller is around twice that of the Draper.
Only thing to watch for on the draper ones is you use them the correct way round. Also, grease the thread every time you use it.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

most times they come with two sets of bolts
3 off each
one set of fine thread unf for the pre vertro flywheel

one set coarse metric for the vertro flywheel be carefull you fit the right bolts to the fly wheel

just a thought alexB*happy*

Check the grade on the bolts aswell...

the imperial ones (the finer pitch ones) should have SIX little lines on the head - if they have three, they are only medium grade bolts, and these WILL give problems on a flywheel that is even slightly tough in removal...

The metric bolts should ideally have 12.9 (high grade) staped into the head, but 8.8 is probably ok.

I've just realised - I meant SykesPick, not Draper in my above posts...

I totally agree with Dave on this. I've got two of these as well, and the S&P one is so very much nicer to use than the coarse thraded Minispares bastard. With the MSC I've needed to heat the flywheel up every time, not so with the S&P.
