Lowestoft, Suffolk.

The cluth on the mini has started to slip with "enthusiastic" driving when running anything over .8bar. I have in the garage two plates with a little life left in them, both AP items, I know one was from my std metro clutch, the other from one of my dead engines with a pre verto, but I cant work out which is which. Any help greatfull.
Cheers
Shane

just use the lighter one,
the springed is verto the non one is pre verto ,
the metro turbo was a verto mecanism with a non verto solid plate

I never thought that they were interchangeable.

I would use the one with the biggest diameter.

They are interchangeable, as far as I remember I've used both in the past.

they're completely interchangeable, though if using a verto in a pre verto mecanism, you'll have to use a 180mm one (pre 1994), as their isn't enough diam (have to machine it) to take the 190mm plate.
Any verto mecanism from 1980 will take a 190mm plate..
hope it's clear

Still learning, great info though.

Can you get a 190mm plate without springs I wonder? I would guess not.

Use the one without springs. They are the weakest link...I found out the hard/expensive way. :(
