Hi Guys,

Any ideas on best plugs for my newly build turbo engine. Im running T2 / T25 on mirage manifolds, Benross head, 1293 10cc omegas, Phase 2 Cam, custom IC & mega Jolt. Im looking at running 12psi normally and 16-18psi for the strip. I getting confused with B8ES, BP8ES & BPR8ES and then the range of platimum plugs, can anybody explain the difference?

What are you guys running and any recommendations on cheapest place to buy.

Heres a picture of my build so far, Ive just awaiting my manifolds from mirage, looking more and more likely I'll not be racing at Avonpark

thanks Matt

I believe you are supposed to use the BPR rather than BP's with megajolt...could be wrong though!

I found the BPR8ES for £1.25 each on ebay, but they are listed for YAMAHA 900 XJ900F/S (83-94) NGK SPARK PLUG BPR8ES 3923.

Thanks for the advise, I was thinking the same thing. I might even replaced the alternator with one from Brise, as its supported in 2 places and comes with brackets etc.

I had this in my mind too, resistive is meant to reduce electrical noise or interference with ecu?

You need to use resistive plugs to help stop interference. So the ones with "R" in the number are the right ones.

I ran the BPR8ES plugs, but if the engine was slightly on the cold side, they would cause to engine to miss and jolt on acceleration. Im sure the BPR7ES plugs would of been better as it was mainly used on the road.

I would use 7's. You'll find anything colder will tend to foul easily on the road. I run sevens without issue, my boost is set to a minimum of 15psi.

Thats exactly what happened to mine, if I gave it a boot it would clear them up and it would be fine, and then slowly foul up again.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

I ran i think 8's with absolutely no issues at all. The ones i used were escort RS turbo plugs. NGK copper core jobs or something. Still got a brand new set somewhere

mike probably right.

keep that one and use the standard bracket with a long threaded stud through it with a sleave over the top, i havent got any pics but oneeyed has some on his build thread, using an old tent pole for the sleave to stop it twisting, if it twists, im just making sure.

have a look at oneeyed,

nice build mate by the way

sorry to hijack but are those omega 18cc dished? i am looking at these myself if so. Also if thats the case did you increase head cc or just go with standard and let pistons lower CR enough?

cheers
