Hey again guys,
Ive got a hole about an 1"ish in diameter with a smaller hole on each side in my clutch/flywheel casing but i dont know why??

(I cant seem to upload pics so il describe best i can)

As you look at the front of the engine, its directly behind the starter motor (pre engaged), in the alloy casing that bolts onto the block (that covers the flywheel etc...).. Its got the 1" hole then a smaller hole above & below it.....

its a proper turbo unit from a '85ish metro i believe

Do you guys know What the hell its for?? *oh well*

oh right, it just looks abit too professionaly done to be cooling (but the other part of the casing has been drilled)

Nothings going to jump or fall out if i leave it open is it?

Mine wasn't drilled in the centre so didn't have a cover. It will be fine left open, just don't drop anything down the hole! lol

Is it the hole about at about 8 O clock on this photo?

I think you're all barking up the wrong tree! The timing mark hole isn't behind the starter nor in the casing that bolts to the block.
Sounds to me like some type of sensor off the flywheel - didn't the MPi have something working off a reluctror ring in the flywheel/clutch assembly?

Exactely! SPI and MPI have the flywheel sensor behind the starter motor. Obviously of no need when runing a carb. Some people leave it open, I made little cover for it when converting from 'i' to carb.

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

From the description of being behind the starter it sounds like the injectio crank sensor hole to me. Probably won't do any harm left open, or block it off if you like.
