As title really, been speaking to steve about what exhaust to run on my new motor, he has recommended a 2 inch single box play mini system-which I have owned on other minis previously, or any exhaust that will flow enough for 200 bhp.

For this car I already have a fletcher 3 inch single box system which I bought some time ago, to me it seems very similar to the playmini, having measured it, its 1 inch 7/8ths internal diameter, just wondering if its up to the job.

Cheers

Oli

Or to put it another way is anyone else using a fletcher system on a turbo motor?

in reality yes but wont give maximum power, just get a 2" pipe on the end cheaper than a new exhaust

-Rover 100 VVC #2 - track project

If you already have the exhaust I'd just use it. 200bhp is a difficult number to acheive and you'll probably find something else will limit the power before the exhaust does.

Running approx 200 bhp through a fletcher system now with my vaux engine. Limitations are still at the manifold on my system and the fletcher is happy enough flowing that amount of power at the mo.

1 7/8" internal diameter? that is a 2" exhaust surely?

It'll be more than up to the job.

I see you are in York, I'm writing this within the walls right now.

Hi, yeah its a 2inch system, just took the id as that seemed more relavent. Thanks to everyone for the helpfull comments, I am not attempting 200bhp, was just told to look for an exhaust that would flow that much. Based on what everyone has said I will run with it, it is at least a nice looking exhaust, seems well made too.
I am currently in York, moved here around 3 years ago, really like it-have done some work in harrogate in the past, its very nice in the centre , usually only go up there to go to minispares now!

cheers

I have one, not yet run in anger, but from the test runs it seems fine.

2" is the OD, exhaust tubing is measured on the OD.

The only issue I had is the link pipe isn't swaged out at the front for a 2" downpipe (I had made my own downpipe in 2" stainless) but was obviusly meant to slip over a slightly smaller LCB type downpipe. I just sleeved and re-welded it to make it 2" all the way through.

I think it is just a copy of the Playmini system, but a VERY good copy - it is very well made.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I have now changed my location as I haven't lived in Harrogate for nearly 2 years! Only been in Yorkshire for a little under 3 years myself.
