Ok,just went to start my 1275 turbo up after putting it in the mini, when doing so petrol shot out of the anti run on valve, all spark plugs were wet, spun it over without the plugs and petrol shot out, more than what should be in there.so i need to sort this out as i dont want it to fill up again and bend con rods etc! lucky we stopped spinning it over, any help much appreciated!

thanks

sounds like the floats stuck to me. shit in the carb prob.
Take it off and strip the bottom off and have a good look around.
Not sure the old trick of tapping it with small hammer to get it to move/seat will be the best option.

could be fuel pressure.. if you havn't set it..
Try firing it up with the pump off now the carbs full.

well the metro engine came complete with the regulator attached,so we havent tampered with it and was guessing it would be set the same.....weve put 8mm feed and return. what you reckon?

if it still floods with the pump off then you know it's the carb and not the pressure.

yeah we tried disconnecting the pump (spi tank) and it wasnt having it, so your sayin its more likely the carb, needle valve or sticky float?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

i hope you have piped the carb up correctley?
and you are not allowing fuel into the plenum!????i think this is what you have done to have so much fuel in the bores*surprised*
and not to the carb, check that first.

if you are sure thats ok? then its the float valve
also check the pressure like doodmeister says *happy*

Also make sure the return pipe is not blocked or kinked along its length, as it can change the fuel pressure dramaticaly.

aha i was just looking at a pic on the net (im at work) and ive noticed ive connected the carb up wrong, looking at the carb from the front - ive blocked up the one thats coming out at an angle pointing upwards, and ive blocked the one where the carb meets the inlet manifold, is this why its doing it???

cheers

Yep, you are just filling everything but the float blow.

Let us know how you get on.

Ok guys, sorted that problem,it was that little clip thats on the carb float that keeps tension on the needle valve, changed it and it runs now,

now for the next problem, the choak aint connected so we set a high tick over and just nurse it by hand to keep it running, when you rev it up abit it backfires, and it sounds like its misfiring, played with timing but it still does it,so im wondering if al these pipes are fitted corrected...........the one im not too sure on is the one thats coming off the actuator, think it went to air pressure solinoid or something? i put a bolt in it but not too sure if its right

can somebody tell me what needs blocking off and what needs piping up where etc.

thanks guys
