Bollocks i am afraid..

They have a smaller big end journal so get used more for big stroke recentered cranks..

Go for A+ rods...

Bo selecta!

They are far stronger, and far heavier. That means for a not high-revving turbo engine the big journal rods are better. The A ones are strogner than the A+ ones, but they are heavier.

Fact is, that the A+ ones are more than strong enough for almost anything you can throw at them. Just use proper rod-bolts.

Finally, most A+ rods I've used have been very unround in the big-end. Never reuse a rod that hasn't been checked for roundness.

Vegard,
I've heard this before about the big-end on the A+, but i've yet to see it for myself... Were these any particular A+ rods (early, late, etc)?

I have never noticed a difference on old and new A+ rods. ( I didn't know there were two different) No car were ever sold new with an A+ engine in Norway, so we're far more used to the good `ol A ones.
