Australia oi oi oi!

what are they like in a mini first up.

my car is a every day mini, im looking at the Quaife.

is it worth it with a mini putting out say 85ATW's?

now my 2nd question.

i do not want to take the engine out.

normally a no drama but i have Aircon * australian Hot climate*

now i have never done this before & i have been told by a old boy mechanic, who raced mini's, who has a car hoist it can be done from under the car & same as the cross pin diff.

rod change box. something along the lines of removing extractors etc & tip engine forward?

has anyone done this.

thanks :)

85 atw, I think that you'd get away without one. I have similar power with just a cross pin and don't feel like an ATB would help.

Can you do it without taking the engine out? depends. possibly, it would be easier if your diff housing is fitted with bolts rather than studs. The process is the same as fitting a crosspin, as you say.

Can you not get the engine out without emptying the aircon?

IMO if you have a cross pin in already, stick with that til the engine is out next.

no i do not have a cross pin, but i was also looking at that as well.

im in two minds what to buy really.

doubt i can pull the engine out, with pulling all the pipes, will look again.

im thinking of getting pipes re made anyways in a neater smarter way then what rover slapped together**

i run a comp diff pin at the moment had no problems with that but i don't spin the wheels..

im kind to my little engine :)

If you don't spin the wheels or light them up under power then an ATB is more or less a waste of money for you.
