Okay, I know it's kind of overkill, and it's just and idea at this point(one that's been running through my head and won't leave). But Has anyone thought of doing twin turbo gt15's? Or one gt15 and one gt17 for different characteristics and less lag? Any pro's? What would be the con's? Aside from custom built stuff?

I think it's much more interesting to use a small turbine with big compressor and external wastegate.

on a similar note (and I did search*wink*: how about turbo *and* supercharging? Mr Gale Banks is doing this with the GM 6.5 TD engine with impressive results, not so much in hp (about 550), but torque

Look at WRC: 2L 600Nm @3000rpm, 300hp at 4000rpm.

how do they keep the boost up at higher revs if they bypass soo much exhaust gas around the (small) turbo?

The rotrex thing interests me, but I'd need at least 7 ports to go with it

Because compressor is so small :) .
It's actually a very basic technology, except the very high-end material used for the rotor. WRC rev limiter is at 7500 rpm.

An odd dream, all the disadvantages of a supercharger mated to all the disadvantages of a turbo.

was going to say exactly the same, ish, least torqu-ey of any supercharger if you want a supercharger you want something like an eaton/rootes, if you want a centrefugal compressor you want a turbo :)

i do like how rotrex equipped cars drive, but thats cause tyhe deliver power like a turbo lol .. there is a roterex-mini kicking around scotland somewhere, a red one.

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.
