Has anyone ever thought of using a housing from an auto choke hif? Ive been thinking about this but find much info on it?

I cant get my head around how they work neither??

It was a stepper motor driving the choke mechanism, controlled by an ecu monitoring engine temperature. Easy to replicate the control side of it these days, and Montego/Maestro turbo carbs were cheaper than Metro turbo ones when I last looked.

They were usually total garbage, my mum used to have a maestro and she had a manual choke fitted as the automatic one never worked properly.

Right, from what ive read they are shite, so ill not be bothering. Wonder how hard it would be to fit some sort of stepper motor device to stop stalling ect.

The reason they were shite was that the seals went on the choke. Fitting viton seals cures the problem.
