Hi all,
Cant seem to find an answer to this apparently simple problem anywhere. I have been rebuilding my carb and starting to look at putting things together. The carb was 2nd hand off ebay and arrived with a turbo manifold and plenum but all in separate bits. I have took pictures and re assembled exactly as it was before. I have this abutment bracket and spacer which is approx 5mm.

When assembled it seems the spacer has to go to the carb side, otherwise the abutment plate stands off on the leanoff pipe.

This is what i assume is the throttle lever, as origonally fitted, there is even a small milled cut out in the manifold to allow it to open

However with the bracket this way round it looks like this, doesnt seem to me like the throttle cable is anywhere near the right place, plus choke connection is on the wrong side.

This as i take it should be the correct way round, but as original, no throttle lever!

This is a n/a carb on the current motor, much more conventional setup with a simple spring lever on this end

and a much better throttle quadrant like this

but having measured the quadrant lever, it would not fit on the turbo manifold, its too long ann fouls

please help its driving me mad *Confused*

cheers

oli

The abutment plate on our van is a 2 piece jobby to put the cables on opposite sides of teh carb. that looks like an n/a one to me

Right-thanks everyone for the help, decided it would be easiest just to make an additonal throttle arm, so out with the cardboard and needle files and after a failed attempt:-

butchered the bracket so it sits on the carb side of the block and added a ferule for the cable

got it so it opens nice now with cable away from manifold and nice and straight

just need to plate/replate these bits and its good to go!

cheers oli

Thanks, think I will do that with the choke as it should be smoother than on the bracket, plus I havent got the little spring clip thingy! Its really odd though, been in garage for hours and never noticed that red line before!*happy*

if you drill something like a 3mm hole ( wide enough for the cable), then a 6 mm hole but not all the way through ( for the black sleeving) it all holds it self into place *wink*
