right im just in the process of getting the metro turbo running,
got it started after a massive palaver with the rust in the fuel tank, thats been replaced with an alloy tank for the mo,

next problem,
i have no oil coming out the pressure switch hole,
what i have done is,
back fill the pump fill the oil cooler,
taken out the relief valve incase it was stuck.
so at this point i now have oil coming out the oil cooler take-off in the block(oil filter feed) and once reconnected i have it flowing out the filter side of the oil cooler,
so i know the pump is working and the oil pickup isnt blocked..

so where is my probem?
i thought the filter can be bypassed inthe housing if you get blockage?
could it be a blocked filter, ive got to go and get new oil and a filter now im hoping it is this??

any thoughts guys?

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

bypass the oil cooler for now and replace the filter.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

don't you have a normal mini filter housing with the steel pipe?

Thats a filter bypass for when you have a clogged up filter, not a pressure relief.

have you tried putting an air line into the preasure switch hole? see if anything gets back to the reliefe valve etc

Stupid question, but have you put the pressure relief valve back in again, nice and clean, no burrs or scoring ?

If not, surely you wont get oil pressure as the oil will be flowing back down into the gearbox (?)

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

well thats sorted now, done an oil and filter change light goes straight out sounds really nice and smooth.
but.
i noticed the boost gauge wasnt moving so i whiped the air filter out and the pipe to the turbo and the shaft seems to be stuck, talk about no play lol,
so i got a 3/8ths down there and it turns on a rachet, but still nothing when it runs,
i think il leave it over night to let some oil get to it then try again,
failing that il have to take it off and see if i can losen it up,im thinkingg i may be after a new turbo....

Turbo is fucked that no amount of oil will fix, if you need a spanner to turn it over!

the bearings,

just pull it apart and clan the shaft up with 1000 wet and dry, then run a drill through the bearings, it'll be fine!
