i know a lot of people use adobe Lightroom, i just can't get on with it though.

I tend to just use photoshop and photomatix for hdr stuff.

Just up graded to Photoshop CS5 but before that I was using Photoshop Elements 6.

I've also used PSP in the past and whilst I've found it more intuitive to use, once I got to grips with Photoshop I found it considerably more capable.

As an aside I'm just finishing a 10 week evening course in Photoshop and what I've learnt has been priceless.

I just use Lightroom, it can handle most simple editing, and is a great library tool.

Photoshop if i need to do anything more hardcore :)

I've been using Photoshop just about every (working) day for the past 13 years. Nothing compares, but it really depends what your needs are. If it's just a bit of tweaking with colours, contrast etc then I'm sure there's other software that will suffice.

In the 13's at last!.. Just
