Hi Guys,

Im trying to build up the energy to go and look at a oil leak i've had for agesss. the problem is i've got a front mounted rad and a oil cooler slung low in the engine bay. the oil is either comming from a leaking fitting on the cooler or a gasket on the front of the engine. I had though it was the adaptor plate i have in with replaces the std oil filter housing. but i've ran my hand round it and its dry.
Im worried its a gasket leak betwen the engine and the gear box which i can see being a really mega pain the in the bum to fix.

clean all the existing oil off the engine (all of it) take it for a drive untill the oil is at running temp, then go home and have a look for some oil... then fix the suspect area. and repeat untill its gone.

It's just nuts and bolts. If you can get ahold of some quality brake cleaner in an aerosol, it'll take the oil off like no other.
