Dear all,

I have a 1992 mini shell and putting a 1293 metro turbo engine into it with around 140bhp.

What sort of mpg would I roughly be able to get on the motorways and long distance driving at around 70 - 80 mph?

I know its hard to say as you need to take lots of things into account but i'm just wanting a rough figure?

Many thanks

Miles

i would give a figure of around 23 to 26 mpg. if your CR is 8.5:1 ish ......

I can tell you that the van does less then 30mpg with the part throttle lean off connected. However the AFR is between 13:1-14:1 at cruise which IMO is a bit rich.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

The van also doesn't have a very high advance curve - as we're home brew tuning at the moment we're airing on the safe side.

You can have power, economy and reliablity. Just not all 3.

I can get 40mpg as long as I stay below 65 and dont use the boost, but whats the point of that ?

26mpg to work and back but very rich on boost and about 12:1 AFR on cruise. If I get over 30 with it all set up I'll be happy!
