Righty this is my first go at replacing lots of panels of in one go, but slighty unsure what order to do them in and how many to do together.

The panels needed...

complete boot floor
complete floor
heel board (may not be needed)
outer sills
inner wings/A panels
rear arches
rear quarters
front end
rear valence

First stage:

replace rear quarters then replace boot floor, rear arches, rear valence together.

Second stage:

replace one side of floor, and do outer sill, then replace complete inner wing

Thirtd stage:

repeat stage 2 on other side, and fit heel board

Fourth stage:

fit front wings and front panel together.

Any thoughts on this...apart from thinking why the fuck don't you buy a new shell! lol

Cheers
Matt

I'd do the floors first and work your way up.

If you take the rear quarters, arches, heel board and boot floor out together and the floors are fooked, you risk it folding in on itself.

The floors are solid just very patched up, and I just want to make them right. The boot floor and rear arches are already gone so thats why I thought to do them first. *oh well* The rear arches have also been tubbed so they wouldn't be much use to locate the new wheel arches.

Its all chicken and the egg at the moment. lol

I suppose the rear subframe could be used to locate the boot floor, then I could do one arch and quarter together??

yep, do the boot floor and heel board, then each arch/quarter. should keep the shell rigid, then just work you way forward

I've had a similar dilemma. I decided to start in the middle and work my way out, it seems to fit together more easily that way and the strength is back into the shell once the sills are done. The problem I've had is that my shell is so bodged I have very few reference points and lots of panels which aren't rusty have been welded over making it difficult to restore.

Thats the same as this shell, lots of patches, so it won't be just a case of drilling spot welds either!

Floor first, boot floor and rear arches second, then body panels

I seriously doubt it!
