Hi all,
I am seriously contemplating a change from metro turbo to vtec and am interested in knowing what the value of my spares are and whether this would fund the vtec.
Would anyone be interested in the following:-
Std metro turbo engine, with T3 and all necessary bits it has t 3.44 diff in it. I would really be looking for around £600 for it (if I paint it red I should get a grand on ebay!).
I also have another complete engine which I know nothing about but got it as a spare. I am not sure whether it is a genuine turbo engine as there is no engine number and taking the rocker cover off it doesn't look like a turbo head. But it has all the turbo carb, turbo, plenum etc with it, would £300 be reasonable for this?
Also have a genuine metro turbo bare block (std bore), turbo crank, and pistons. I am really not sure what they are worth, maybe £100?
Also I have a std metro turbo head which must be worth £50.
I have a modified metro turbo head which I bought years ago from a guy who raced metro turbos. It has had the ports enlarged and the extensive work to lower the compression. It also has big valves and esky valve springs. The guy I bought it from said that the work was carried out by Jonspeed but I have no way to verify that. I am not sure again how much this would be work, £300.
I have a standard metro turbo gearbox, condition unknown £100?
Plenum chamber £50 (based on how much these are going for on ebay!)


Do these valuations seem reasonable, any advice would be appreciated. It is not definite I am gonna change to vtec yet as I am strapped for cash at the moment and will only do it if the money made by these spares will cover the cost. Due to the weight and bulkyness of these things I would like anything to be collected, but as I am in the east midland it shouldn't be too far from anyone!
