Inertia Reel Front Seat Belts Fitting Issues

I'm just reassembling the project, and during the time its been apart i fitted a rear four point safety devices roll cage.

I have now come to refit the inertia reel seat belts into the rear bins (which are still as standard) and i have found there is not enough space, the downward tube of the cage is in the way.

I'm sure i've seen cars that still use the inertia reels with the same cage so how have people got around it?

fit the cage when the belt is in and adjust as necessary, only way to keep it standard imo
mount the reel to the cage would be a way around
