Has anyone ever replaced one using a steel skin? My recent project looks like its had the skin bonded on, and as its going to be a road car I want it to be fixed on properly.

No mate, thats a lot of hard work to create a fuck up. Cut the donor skin off below the gutter as you said above, but then grind off the gutter leaving the flange of the roof skin in good condition, then plug weld it on I seriously doubt it! |

Finishing, I wish! Still a big pile of panels left to fit. It started of as a quick patch up and drop an engine in, then the TM disease kicked in...
