I buy my panels from Somerford but that's partly because they're close but they have a massive stock of genuine panels and are one of the cheapest.

Use genuine short outer sills, oversills are a water trap and will rust out in no time taking the floor, inner sill and heel board with them. Just look at my project thread if you want to see how bad they can be.

One thing to be aware of at the moment is that the availability of BMH panels is poor as they are relocating their presses and have made a bit of a mess of it.

go for genuine where you can, especially where they will be visible.

The panel is designed to be welded over the original rusty sill but I've seen them used to replace a sill many times. I can't understand why you would though when you've gone to the effort of cutting off the old sill.

Yes, the 4" ones with 6 vents are correct for any car from 1971 onwards.

sadly yes, but it does depend what panel

A sill for example could be ok as a non gen, as it has no masively critical fitting points, pluss its fairly hidden anyway.

a non gen scuttle or wing will look wank though.

also the metal used is usually not as good quality and more prone to blowing through.

for inner sills i cut a bit of the old one out and got a mate to bend a bit of thick sheet to the same angle.

Pattern rear valances are OK to fit, just take your time and line everything up properly before you weld it. I spent an hour hacking one apart and rewelding it last night after somebody had fitted it badly and left it about 1" from the inner corner stiffening bits!
