how's it going guys got my mini going hard an running well. but around 20mins of drivin an boostin it starts to heat up.then if i stop on let it idel it will go back normal temp.. i think the radatior cant keep up ... any ideas cheers

my mini has a cold

what rad have you fitted ? 2 core 4 core ?

and what stat have you in there ?

all the extra BHP will place a massive load on the cooling system

um its a two core ... an stat is a 72deg one..an running a electric fan..

my mini has a cold

just a leccy fan? or that AND the belt driven fan?

ALl i had on mine was the following

(9psi, 140bhp ish)

2 core rad
4 blade steel fan
thermostate sleeve (no thermostat)

Never got over 60-70 degress when normal driving with a bit of welly, BUT if i hammered it hard and did a bit of town driving it would reach about 88-90 degrees..

sounds to me like you need a 4 blade fan and to take the thermostat out?

or just try a 4 blade fan first, and double check your temp gauge is correct...

I find mine behaving similar to Johnnys, after driving with a bit of gusto then pulling up in traffic you can practically watch the gauge go up. I notice min-its have advertised a side mount alloy rad in Mini Mag for about £150, I may be buying one.
