went away for the weekend in my j reg 998cc mini city, clocked up 730 miles over 4 days!
About 20 miles away from where i live and the car loses power, as if the points have gone. I fone the AA and they send some punk out, he jumps in the car and its fine, i look a complete twat and drive off. about 7 miles down the road the exact same thing happens again, the car losses all power but just about keeps running. so i fone the AA again but this time for a tow truck. When he arrives the car seems fine again as he drove it on the back of his lorry.
Has any one got any ideas as to what could be happening.

i will do my testing tonight!

I had a problem like this on my 998. The valve in the float chamber was sticking.

if points setup replace condenser gap points change the coil to prove it
after the carb of course
it could be anything ??
so above is a start from us all
