HI,

Decided to join after reading some topics, I'm looking around for ideas of what to put in my mini. Was completely rebuilt about four years ago with a 1380 engine really great went on a few tracks but alas, it blew up a couple of weeks ago. So just mooching and reading other peoples projects until I make my mind up! sort of leaning towards a 1293 with supercharger at the moment but was gobsmacked at the cost of 18cc dished JE pistons about 480 quid. May use a steel gasket instead!
Anyway look forward to reading more about your projects on the site.

hey chap,

forged accralite are quite a bit less than 480 notes, they could be an option depending on deck height *wink*

Hi,
Thanks for the info, I will check that out. As I said in my post have two options a stripped down 1275 engine under the bench and a 2.016v Clio Cup 182 engine and gearbox sitting in the garage just depends on cost atm

Welcome. You may find you don't need forged pistons. What about the cast Omegas ? I've been running a minimum of 15psi on these for almost a year now.

as phil states the cast omegas are the good guy piston and well proven in forced induction applications, around £295 inc delivery

i now use forged accralites in all the builds for peeps on here ......... a touch more expensive but ....@ £327 ish worth the extra money
