I am about to fit some new guides and at present am going to use the standard rocker set but may upgrade to a roller rocker set.

Now my questions are this:

Are the standard rocker's 1:1

If fitting a higher ratio rocker set do I need to set the guides further into the head ie press them in further.

Having searched useing "valve guides" as the search string I did see mention of the fact that modern turbo engines have seals fitted to all the valve guides, and the suggestion of the turbine causing a depression at the exhaust valve resulting in oil being drawn down into the exhaust port. Is this theory or fact?

I believe std rockers are 1:1.3 (forget) and a little bit more for old pressed.

Most of good engines (let's say since mid-70s on crossflow heads) have seals on all guides, turbo or not. On turbo engines seals are of better quality, they are not in robber. But for example Alfa Romeo or Maserati have always been using good quality ones that can fit any engine.
