can anyone tell me what has to be machined on the diff. housing to take a quaife lsd? I see TurboHarry is using one along with the JKD equal length driveshaft conversion, has anyone else got one of these, if so are they any good?

I'm not entirely sure what is needed, that's why I'm paying someone to do mine at the moment, it's a TranX not a Quaife though.

However, I seem to remember hearing that you don't ned to do any machining to fit the ATB. This could be a wildly inaccurate statement.

I must admit I remember from somewhere that the ATB fits without machining as well? Again that could be a load of s!!!e.

Think that you may in some cases have to relieve the diff housing a _bit_ to clear the larger diff body but think that is it?

Let us know when you find the actual answer!

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

I have a Tran-X LSD fitted. I ground out both the diff housing and the gearbox casing to provide clearance.
I trial fitted the diff into the gearbox and tried to turn the diff. The diff left marks where it was catching the casing, so using a carbide bit i ground where it was catching, this was on the crown wheel side of the casing. I just kept doing this until the diff would turn sit properly and turn freely. I did the same for the diff housing. Quite easy really, just took a while to do.

I believe it's only the mk6 JK LSD that fits without any mods.
