just wondered if anyone has used these, how they are getting on with them build quality etc,
as for the price they seem really nice but i would of thought they would of been machined overseas for that price tag

Ive not used them and I dont know who produces them for John, but they are certainly going to be stronger and lighter than standard and when you consider the price of purchasing standard parts then modifying them, they work out to be pretty good value.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

i think it might be wise to go with the tried and tested method of MED by the sounds of it

There have never been any breakages to these rods that we have heard of, and I'm sure we would have heard about it- if they have broken its through user neglect or incorrect fitment. We supply a very well respected tuner wihh these rods and they are only used in race mini engines - without incidence.

never believe all the stories you hear - far better talk to the designer - ie me!

JK

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

there wasnt meant to be any negativity

im just being wary.as its a lot of money to get it wrong.
just wanted to hear of people who have /are running them as havnt heard of many people.

are your cranks and rods machined in house??

bad words spread fast in the mini community, if someone has thrown a rod im sure it would have been all over the clubs and double sure johnk would have redesigned if for what ever reason to prevent it

i was lead to believe that M E D no longer do there own crank and rod modifying, but i have very recently been informed by someone close to MED that they do indeed carry out there own crank work,

i may have been misinformed, but you could always ask them to allow you to watch them as they carry out the work for a short while,
