Guys, owning an A-series relative (1100) - and needing the engine sorting, I've been tempted by a friend ooop North as he has a bike breakers next door and suggested the BMW K1100 head conversion.
reading up - looks a screamer - all good

BUT

Can it be (or has anyone looked at/tried) turbo'ing this conversion?
I ahven't found anything (yet).

All in planning stage at present - so collecting what I hope will work out with some elbow grease, pachining and a truckload of luck.

Thx

John

i bought the gear to do it to, you need an 80 thou over bore minimum on the small bore block (998/1098) the +120 thou pistons from aus minispares are perfect and good under boost, a few on here have boosted k head mini engines, jims being the most powerful

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

EXCELLENT! - I did go trawling and found some, youtube'd out the work afternoon yesterday!!!! HA HA
I'll be learning MASSIVELY as I go with this one but thanks for the advice already.
Bound to be back with more dumbass q's though.

As a starter - did you go for a 'fitting kit' available - or machine your own blanking plates and adaptors etc...? I think I'll have to get the machining needed done over in UK as no-one this side has done this AFAIK.

I'll be trawling build threads too........ thanks guys.

I didn't use a kit on mine, there wasn't one available at the time.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
