It came to the point today to carry out a first start of the fresh 1330 build running megajolt.

I can't get a spark at the plug. I have tried reversing the sensor polarity and checked the sensor gap which is set at 0.6mm so no issues there.

I've run through the expected voltages section of the installation guide that is on autosport labsand these are my findings. All voltages were taken from the pins on the edis unit.

Voltage across VR sensor terminal when not running is 0v
Voltage across pins 5 and 6 when cranking is 0.8V (should be 2.5V AC)
Voltage across 5 and 6 when not running is 2.5V (should be 0V i understand)
Voltage between pin 1 and ground when not running is 11.2V but when cranking drops to under 1V! Surely this is a major issue?

Can anyone shed any light on this please? The car is ready to go after a full 18 month rebuild and this is now the only thing holding me up.

I've done a thorough check of my wiring today. I've even tried earthing everything to the engine block to no effect.

I tried changing the sensor polarity to no effect either.

Anyone have any further ideas, this is getting rather annoying now?

Do you have 12v on pin 8 while cranking?

Do you have 12v on the centre pin of the coil pack?

sorry to hijack, i have a problem with my wiring to the edis unit. i have a good power source to a fusebox with a 20amp fuse, this then splits into 2 wires after the fuse, one powers the MJ unit, and the other goes to the edis and splits to goto the coil. IF i unplug the MJ and the coil and JUST have the edis plugged in i get 3v reading from the wire coming from the fuse at the fust box? is this normal? ALSO its 3v across ALL input voltages, sooo the megajolt unit is only getting 3v and so is the coil???? what should i do? i know all the components work and all earths are earthed in the same spot and that there is sufficient power getting to the edis unit. i dont know what to do, i need to ideally get the car set up tomorrow to run in for coombe :(
