HI all,
ive just completed a turbo conversion on shaz mini beasts mini and im struggling to get it running right. He has posted a seperate topic on this.

The question i have is

we are only using a standard hif44 with the improved turbo butterfly seals. what else do i need to do to a standard hif to get it up to turbo spec. i know that some dashpots are sealed which i have done with a viton o ring but what else is needed.

on the hif44 there is no pipe ahead of the butterfly for the leanout pipe to connect to but there is the pipe sticking out the side of the carb ( i always thought any breathers connected to this ) what do i do with that, its currently blocked off.

its all piped up correctly and will start and run, ticks over fine and revs up fine and can be kept revving. problem is if you dont slowly back off the throttle and just dump it back to tickover it stalls. Any idea why

im going to set the timing up tommorow with a strobe see if that improves it.

what should i set the ignition timing too ie how many deg before TDC

cheers

Andy

PS all this info will come in handy for my own blow through supercharger build
