You will need to recut the valve seats if fitting new guides. If the valve seats are quite worn you could install a larger valve to help reclaim the seat.

Head is currently a standard turbo head, stripped it down this afternoon & found a bit of wear in the guides.

For a basic fast road head I'd put a larger 35.7mm inlet in, the standard ex size can be retained if the seats useable. All valve spacings are equal as accurate as they were machined by BL ... |

I don't know offhand sorry. It's difficult to get a proper 3 angle seat on the standard size ex, going to a 30 or 31 will make it possible, but 31mm leaves little between the valves. |

For someone who rums a machine shop you sure do ask questions akin to a complete beginer .

I'm in the very early stages of a 1293 fast road build, what do you recommend for valve sizes?? I run a machine shop so cutting new seats, fitting guides, skimming & porting is no problem, will be making my own mainfold to take a T2 turbo when i can source one. My heads at work, can you tell me the distance between centres of the valves (Before any offset) in each chamber & are all 4 pairs the same???, I'm looking into CNC milling the chambers & need to cad the profile to work out the cc. |
