Alright guys.

I just thought I would ask before trawling the net for a supplier if anyone had a 1.4m length of this left over from a rollcage or something.

I need it so I can fabricate a rear beam.

Failing that anyone got a good supplier to reccomend. Rollcentre are cheap but they charge £25 postage on any order. which is annoying.

Cheers

James

I also bought my CDS tubing from him when I was experimenting with my one piece front brace bar - he has it listed as 1 1/2", not 38mm - but be aware it is standard CDS, not thinwall T45 roll cage tubing.

Same strength but slightly heavier to achieve it (and easier to bend/weld as a result).

I've ordered lots of stuff from him (his prices and carriage charges are very good) but delivery is random, sometimes quick, sometimes real slow......

Class, those people are 20 minutes away - Result!

So, would I get away with the 2.03mm thick wall or should I go for the 2.64mm

I think the 2.64mm thick, But it will be tied to the heelboard and rear seat squab.

I would like the whole thing to weigh no more then 4.5kgs

Depends on how you feel about welding to it. Both should be strong enough on their own but the thicker one will be easier to get strong welds for brackets etc. depending on your welding equipment and experience - that's not meant to be negative BTW.

If you're using TIG, either would be fine for me, but if using MIG, I would use the thicker one.

I went with the 2.6mm. For the sake of 0.5kg I would rather not compromise strength for something as important as the radius arms

All sorted now, and picked up a nice lengh of ally bar for the gear linkage while I was at it.

They were very helpful.
