have a look at Adam1340's (think that's his name) build thread. he did something like that. Bogg brothers made hte manifolds etc for him.

Near Paris - France

What capacity is it ?
What cam is it ?
Is it boosted ?

I would go for the smaller capacity bike carb as it is the valve area that counts in power and those have much more.

The smaller the carb, the more torque low down but obviously you don't want to compromise peak power ...

But actually, lots of bike have depression carb in the SU style.
Maybe it would be better with some pumper carbs but they are not found often (at least in good nick).

Why not go for a set of Hif 38 on a minispares Vizard based manifold ?
Much cheaper and the superiority of the bike setup as to be proven ...

dont be scared of the Bike carb route. I use one on my setup and I wouldn't go back to an SU... My version:

- no more dash pot oil
- The internals are plastic
- they have a moveable needle via a circlip
- They have changeable jets for 1/4 and full throttle.
- The spindle is butter flyd at the factory
- They have a built in ram pipe tuned for the carb

Issues:
- You will need to have a manifold made
- you will need to make a throttle pickup
- you will need to make a throttle stop
- you will need to make a choke pickup

You will need a setup by a rolling road that is familiar with bike carb conversions so they know how to tune them, but then there are quite a few cars that use them as a mod..

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

It's a 38 mm from a fireblade. A quick note it's not used to accept boost as I have an evil supercharger setup.
The carb won't add power unless your current one is taking it away. Fuel cost will depend on more than the carb

I'm tentatively looking at the possibilities for fitting bike carbs to a 7 port set up (Pierce Manifolds). Ultimately I'd rather inject it, but buying the head right now would be enough of a stretch.

The engine is an ACDodd 1330 with a Kent 266 running on a lightly modified gearbox. As the engine is in a Midas I need carbs that can be mounted horizontally and are as low in profile as possible.

Any suggestions?
