Wow, Omega really are losing market share of the A-series piston... Still, lessons learnt and all that!

The compression is the same, slightly better power as the offset dish is under the valves I presume

Any idea when the 73.5 18cc will be available peeps

About 6 weeks for the 73.5 18cc. They will be the lightest forged pistons on the market. We're also saving weight by having very light gudgeon pins made. There being made exclusivly for us by a division of cosworth.

The price is near the top of the tread. Less expensive than all forged omega's and JE's.

bet they are perfect if you snap a timing chain or similar and a valve drops down - or if you see washers in the spark plug holes! Less chance of damage

Avonbar - how come we've been waiting many, many, many years for pistons like this (a larger dish and alternative to Omega), then like a bus, two different types come along at once!!!

Is it that interest in 'turbocharged' A-series is higher than it has been before - or is it that almost all the Metro Turbo engines are now in need of a rebuild?
I'm just curious - has the 'turbo' market declined, increased, or what?

i reckon the interest in turbo's has grown a hell of a lot over the last year. I've only been into em for about a year and a half now and this site has got really busy compared to when i first started posting on here. and there's gonna be a load more about that dont know this place exists!

Funny enuff ive had a meeting today with JE and there going to sort me a even better price on pistons, including a 18cc dish 73.5mm piston, i already do a very nice JE 18cc dish +020.
The pistons will come with standard size pin or 18mm pin.
There also looking at making me some cast pistons.
Im not sure on prices yet but i guess there gonna be hovering around the ?440 ish inc VAT.
Ive got pictures now so ill stick them on my website.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Im just looking at pistons now, MBE said he can do them for ?450 (the 18cc JE's that is).

not sure who he's getting them from though.

just easiest for me to get them from him as he's doing the machining. they all seem to be of a similar price.

noticed minispeed are doing a VAT free day soon, which makes the JE's ?400 quid! But it means going to the shop

probably be out of stock anyway!

Yes turbodave! The turbo mini market has grow over the last year. The main reason for the new pistons, As you might know is that omega's are hard to get hold of now.
Not forgetting the urge to run more boost *wink*
