If you're running a wet setup ie the fuel & air going through the charger you don't need a bypass valve, if however you're running the charged air through the carb you will then need a bypass valve. The bypass valve help with the flow of charged air and runs by using vacuum to operate it.

GrahamXX if you dont run the bypass wouldn't it cause the car to stall or bog down when coming to a stop as the SC draws the fuel through when the throttle is shut?
I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
