Miglia Bulkhead How Do I?

Hello All,

Installed the weld in cage into mini today and have a lump cut out of bulkhead which was a bit manky. It's the piece in middle so though about a Weber box or similar but then figured for the effort maybe just chop the lot out and go for a Miglia bulkhead.

I have found lots of pics of finished bulkheads but wondered if anyone has any progress shots or advice please?

It seem the original bulkhead joins to the scuttle for strength. Do you leave a lip there and weld to it or just cut right back?

I guess this question may answer the one before. Do you leave standard dash rail in place? I have dash rail in roll cage so don't need it for side impact strength.

Also how far into cockpit do you take bulkhead please? do you take right to edge of original dash line then put new dash further in or just in line with original top line of bulkhead which joins to scuttle?

Sorry lots of questions i know but have the weekend free at long last and this plus the rear valance is all thats left before prepping for paint

they are quite complicated to do, i've done a few and everyone is different.

You really need a big metal folder to do it neatly. Best advice i'd give is once you've cut out what you need, made a cardboard template and design it to be what you want.
