mate has a 1430 with a weber 45, but recently its been stalling when braking.

Any clues?

Float set way to high.
Is it on an inclined manifold?

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.

because you have to set the float below what the webber setting should be. this should take into account the incline.
I dropped mine until it didn't flood on heavy brakeing and it seems to run great.
