Just got back last night, what a fantastic place, my second trip now of many more to come I am sure.

Ric, Alex, Matty, Ian, Nic, Paul will all be pleased to hear that the Nurburstag sticker lives on in the Pistenklause and the steak is still good.

Managed 16 laps during the weekend, culminating in a time of 9m04sec when my co driver timed the last lap without me knowing. It is fair to say I was happy with that!

Gents, it really is a must if you like track driving. I like Cadwell Park as much or possibly more than the next man, but this place really blows it out of the water.
The red one is fun and quick on the road, but the white one will run rings around it in the handling stakes even if it is down on power a bit in comparison. The other reason to take it was that a good mate of mine who made the trip last weekend, had a pretty bad accident there a few years ago. Luckily he was wearing a helmet which probably saved his life judging by the tarmac scrapes on it after the accident, but sadly he didn't have a cage in the car in question and crushed 3 vertebrae and thus had a nice lie down in Adenau hospital for 7 weeks listening to the cars going round until he was allowed to travel home.
After that we all made a bit of a pact not to go there in cars without a cage, proper seats, and harnesses, hence the red one was out of the running.

i went there for the first time in september and mananged a 9:37 in my A3 on my 4th lap

went back again at easter this year and best I got was a 10:00 dead in the pouring rain with oil on the track.

I can only reitterate (sp?) what tom says though, it's literally the most amazing place in the world. All UK trackdays just seem boring in comparison.

I'm heading back out there in 5 weeks time with the Mini and the A3 :)

Brilliant place isnt it tom, i havent been tho for 6 years now, younger bro went earlier in the year and is planning on later aswell, he says its miles different now aswell.

Aparently you get a ring card now that you put cash on then obviously pay for things, and it gets used at the new circuit with all the shops and atractions.

I must admit that after your comment I went to have another look at the pic, and the picture really does flatter it. In reality it is by no means a shitter, but not that tidy either. But as it is for the track, and the previous incarnation ended up on its roof, we don't get too excited about trying to make it immaculate as then there are no tears to spill if it gets bent.
It is road legal and is very occasionally used on the road, but to be honest it isn't that great on anything that isn't racetrack smooth due to the stiff spring rates.

It went on the trailer, I've no doubt it would have driven itself there and back, but the driver doing it would have been thoroughly pissed off and deaf by the time it got to Germany, probably not at all in the mood to drive the damn thing any further, let alone around the circuit.
