So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I cannot see how any patent could be taken out on such a product. Any solution is constrained by the need to fit (or hammer in :p ) to the hole in the block which is a fixed size.

I believe the legality comes into it if you intend to make a profit from the item.

On the website

http://www.mra-minis.co.uk/classic-mini-pa...plus-series.htm

there is absolutely no reference to a patent (or copyright).

If he actually declared one it would be interesting to follow up the legality of it, but I don't think one exists - just his bullshit.

Mind you, since his previous threats, I now shut all my garage doors and put blackout blinds on the windows before I dare put any size round aluminium bar in my lathe....... *happy*

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Another thing that makes a mockery of it, especially given the number of members on here who own lathes, Jim, Phil, Carl, you, RobH, myself, just off the top of my head.

As he's local i might take one that my old mans made and show him how he can improve his design so it fits properly.

I think Mr 34 posts is upset that the OP would like Mr 5030 posts to make his dizzy bungs for him, live and let live.

And some new tools, cutting fluid and stock. Now all I needs is some skill....

Bet it's not that hard to knock one up though...

Not at all, but a simple thank you for the offer would have been polite.

Hehe. I was going to say something similar however it was far less witty than this.

Sold mine, having got rid of the Minis I couldn't see myself using it much.

There's a bit of play but it's not too bad when you get the hang of it.
