hi, i was wondering if someone could tell me something a bout my engine. basically i was out with friends tonight and a fellow person with a mini stop and started chating to me and said something about if my engine is a gold/yellow colour then it is some kind of special 998cc engine. is this true or a load of rubish? and also what is the difference?
the car i ahve is a rover mini studio 2 on a H plate and its a 998cc and the engine is painted a golf/yellow colour.
thanx mark :)

is that really all a gol seal engine is? they make it sound like a special rover one and everything hehe, is it just 998s they did it with?

Somewhere around Swindon

all 998's out the factory were yellow/ gold

there also was a company that reconed many manufacturers engines and called them gold seal

only way of knowing is to pull it apart and measure the bearings and see if they have been done ect
